We're busy, busy, busy - sweeping, scrubbing, pruning, painting, weeding, and generally just making this place home. Hopefully we'll be able to post some pictures of the house in the next few weeks (once we've made a few improvements.)
But for now...
We now have our own garden (back yard) for Nora to romp around in and although it needs a lot of work to make it really beautiful, we're loving it!
Nora loves digging around, exploring, stealing (not-yet-ripe) blackberries off the vines when we're not looking, sweeping the path and finding ladybugs (called ladybirds in England) and worms to play with.
This photo is of the day we moved in and this worm in particular received several kisses from our sweet little girl. (Don't worry, we've been discouraging the kissing of worms ever since.)
It's so nice to be able to let her get all dirty and then plop her straight into the tub!
Here she is that night telling us all about her 'wum' (worm).

At least she only kissed it. She could have tried to eaten it. When she's older, you should read her the book HOW TO EAT FRIED WORMS. I have a copy you can borrow. :)
ReplyDeleteReminds me of our Oxford days with our Banbury Road garden in which we spotted a FOX one day. And the peonies bloomed each year despite my lack on a green thumb. Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteI love it! She has more guts that any of my boys . . . the only way they'll touch worms is to put them on a hook to fish, but to think of playing with them?!?!?! No way!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great place. Love the pictures and oh by the way let her kiss and eat worms, I did and I am normal. BTW looks like that would make a great fishing worm maybe you should teach her about that use of worms.
ReplyDeleteWhen Ben was about the same age he used to play with worms and them save them in his pants pocket. He would come in so excited and pull them out to show Stephanie and was greatly disappointed that they hadn't survived the trip. 'Did this several times before he realized they just weren't sturdy.
