Five Months!

And now, somehow, Eli is five months old.

I was chatting with my dad on the phone tonight and he wisely pointed out how terribly slowly those first five months of pregnancy seem to crawl along (waiting to get over the morning sickness and tiredness, waiting to have a bit of a bump to show off, waiting to feel those first kicks, etc.) but the first five months of a baby's life simply flies by.  It rang so very true.  I often find myself wishing I could just pause life to give us enough time and space to soak in every detail of our precious children.

Dear Eli,

Please slow down little man.  You're growing too fast.
